About the Generative AI Innovation Center
The center helps AWS customers implement Generative AI solutions and explore transformational business opportunities. The team comprises strategists, scientists, engineers, and architects working collaboratively to build tailored solutions that harness the power of generative AI.
2024 Initiatives
Starting in 2024, the Innovation Center launched a new Custom Model and Optimization program to help customers develop and scale highly customized generative AI solutions. Responsibilities include:
- Imagining and scoping bespoke use cases for maximum value
- Navigating technical and business challenges
- Developing and optimizing models for solutions
- Planning for large-scale launches
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with AI/ML scientists and engineers to research, design, develop, and evaluate generative AI solutions addressing real-world challenges.
- Interact with customers to understand their business problems and assist with implementation.
- Guide customers on adoption strategies, including model selection, training, tuning, and hardware optimization.
- Provide feedback to product and engineering teams to influence product development.
- Design and run experiments, research new algorithms, and explore optimization of risk, profitability, and customer experience.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s degree with 6+ years of applied research experience
- 5+ years of practical experience with Python for building, training, and evaluating models
- 5+ years in algorithms, data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel/distributed computing, high-performance computing
- 2+ years of experience in designing, developing, and optimizing generative AI solutions and algorithms
- Proven record of patents or publications in top-tier conferences/journals
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years working with Large Language Model (LLM)-powered agents and orchestration approaches
- Hands-on experience with model fine-tuning, continued pre-training, and LLM evaluation
- Knowledge of model optimization on GPUs, Amazon Silicon, or TPUs
- Experience with open-source frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar tools
- Building generative AI applications on AWS using Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker
- Strong communication skills and scientific thinking
