Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development and deployment of innovative AI solutions on our patient-centric platform. This role involves designing sophisticated machine learning models to convert complex health data into actionable insights for patients, healthcare providers, and researchers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end machine learning solutions, including data preprocessing, model deployment, and monitoring.
- Develop and optimize agentic Large Language Models (LLMs) for healthcare with techniques like fine-tuning and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Create robust data pipelines for validation and deployment.
- Implement ML systems to analyze diverse healthcare data types: clinical data, medical imaging, unstructured text.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate ML models into production infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain high performance.
- Develop systems for monitoring model performance, data drift, and system health.
- Lead research into cutting-edge AI/ML techniques.
- Work with clinical experts to validate outputs and ensure medical accuracy.
- Keep abreast of latest AI/ML advancements, especially in healthcare.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in machine learning engineering, especially in production ML systems.
- Fluent in Python and AI/LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI.
- Proven experience deploying ML/LLM solutions.
- Strong understanding of ML fundamentals: deep learning, NLP, statistical modeling.
- Experience with ML ops tools, working with large datasets, distributed computing.
- Strong software engineering skills.
- Hands-on with LLM tools like LangChain, LlamaIndex, Prompt Engineering.
- Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Knowledge of vector databases, similarity search, message queuing, data analytics.
- Passionate about creating scalable, impactful AI solutions in healthcare.
Additional Information
- Location: Hybrid (San Mateo, CA) - 2-3 days in office.
- Salary Range: $170,000 - $210,000 (plus stock options, benefits, unlimited PTO, parental leave).
