The Opportunity
This position is based out of St. Paul, MN in the Structural Heart division. Our mission is to restore health and improve quality of life through device design and management solutions for structural heart disease.
Role: AI/Machine Learning Engineer
You will provide technical leadership within a vibrant, high-performing R&D team, redefining the treatment of structural heart disease by leading development of innovative ML-enabled features on a novel device and cloud platform.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field with emphasis on AI and ML. Master’s or PhD preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in AI/ML programming languages: Python (preferred), R, Julia, or MATLAB.
- Experience with libraries such as Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras.
- Hands-on experience with supervised, semi-supervised, and unsupervised ML methods.
- Basic skills in exploratory data analysis and visualization.
- Experience with training/validation dataset preparation.
- Understanding of statistical methods.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in relevant fields.
- Experience with analytics reporting and interactive visualizations.
- Knowledge in image/video segmentation and classification.
- Experience deploying models to cloud environments (API, containerization).
- Familiarity with ISO standards.
- Skills in model optimization techniques for edge deployment.
- Database experience (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Programming experience in C/C++/C#.
- Experience in HPC environments like Azure Databricks.
- Medical device development experience.
- Clinical trial experience.
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and interventional cardiology.
