You Are
As an AI Research Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and deploying advanced AI models and systems that address real-world problems and drive business innovation. Your key responsibilities include:
- Translating research findings into practical, scalable solutions.
- Ensuring effective integration of AI technologies into products and services.
- Collaborating with research teams, engineering teams, and product managers.
The Work
Development & Implementation
- Design, develop, and implement cutting-edge AI models based on the latest research and industry advancements.
- Convert research prototypes into production-ready code and scalable solutions.
- Optimize algorithms and models for improved performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Deployment & Integration
- Deploy AI models into production environments, ensuring seamless infrastructure integration.
- Collaborate with software engineers to embed AI solutions into products.
- Monitor and maintain deployed models, making improvements as needed.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and product managers.
- Provide technical guidance to team members.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Research & Innovation
- Keep up-to-date with the latest AI research and apply advancements.
- Conduct experiments/tests to validate AI model performance.
- Propose and develop new AI technologies and methodologies.
Travel may be required, with the percentage depending on business needs.
Location: Onsite at the Generative AI Center of Excellence in Mountain View, CA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 4 years of experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
- Minimum 4 years of experience with machine learning tools/frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), AI, deep learning, or NLP.
Bonus Points
- Over 5 years of experience with programming and machine learning frameworks.
- Over 2 years of research experience in machine learning, NLP, or computer vision.
- Master's or PhD degree.
- Team management experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation varies based on several factors including location, role, skill set, and experience:
