About the Role
As a Principal Backend Engineer, you will:
- Innovate in a startup-like environment, working with top AI and software development experts.
- Play a pivotal role in creating AI-powered systems aimed at automating accounting workflows.
- Collaborate across functions with AI/ML engineers, frontend developers, product managers, and designers.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development & AI Integration
- Develop and maintain backend services using Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL.
- Implement AI orchestration systems integrating LLMs from providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic.
- Design APIs and backend logic for real-time AI interactions.
- Contribute to designing our AI Platform for automating various AI-driven tasks in accounting.
Performance & Scalability
- Ensure backend systems are secure, scalable, and optimized.
- Monitor and improve performance across millions of documents and interactions.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with AI researchers, engineers, and product teams.
- Promote a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.
About You
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in backend development.
- Strong skills in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
- Experience with distributed systems, API design, and data modeling.
- Proven track record of building production-grade software.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for AI-driven software and new engineering paradigms.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AI-driven systems or agent-based architectures.
- Knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, or search-based AI.
