Position Overview
We are seeking a Principal AI Engineer with extensive expertise in developing, deploying, and scaling AI/ML systems within cloud environments, especially on AWS. This role demands a hands-on leader experienced in real-world AI solutions such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), LLM fine-tuning, and cloud-native development utilizing services like Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, and ECS.

Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and manage AI-powered microservices on AWS focusing on scalability, security, and cost optimization.
- Lead the creation of RAG pipelines connecting internal datasets (system logs, S3 documents) with inference endpoints using vector-based retrieval systems.
- Fine-tune and deploy large language models (LLMs) using LangChain, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face Transformers.
- Optimize semantic search and prompt engineering for high-precision information retrieval.
- Manage software development lifecycle with CI/CD, GitHub workflows, and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Provide technical guidance and serve as a subject-matter expert in cloud AI initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive internal documentation to facilitate reuse, onboarding, and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years in software development, especially in Python, GoLang, and/or Node.js.
- Proven contribution to open-source projects in AI/ML/cloud.
- Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Data Science or equivalent experience (e.g., patents, research papers).
- Practical experience with RAG architectures in production environments.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services: SageMaker, Lambda, Bedrock, ECS.
- Experience in fine-tuning LLMs and deploying models in enterprise settings.
- Understanding of NLP concepts, tokenization, embeddings, and training pipelines.
- Proficiency in version control, DevOps, and cloud-native development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Automation of cloud policies using Terraform Sentinel.
- Cost-optimization strategies (FinOps).
- Managing AWS Organizations and enforcing cloud governance.
- Security, PII handling, and compliance best practices.
