Position: Lead/Associate Director of ML & MLOps Engineering - GenAI
Role Summary
We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our ML & MLOps Engineering team focused on Generative AI solutions within the Data Science Center of Excellence at S&P Global. You will oversee the development of production-grade GenAI solutions, ensuring seamless deployment and management of ML models and data pipelines.
The Team
You will collaborate with a world-class AI/ML team comprising AI/ML modeling experts, ML & LLMOps engineers, data scientists, and data engineers. Your role is critical in driving S&P’s AI transformation to create value internally and for customers.
Responsibilities and Impact
- Lead ML Engineering initiatives to design, build, and deploy robust GenAI services.
- Work on large-scale distributed systems including infrastructure, data ingestion, databases, microservices, and orchestration.
- Develop and oversee MLOps/LLMOps platforms and automated pipelines focusing on deployment, monitoring, and model performance optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML models into operational systems.
- Maintain documentation for best practices and processes.
- Support the development and implementation of the Enterprise AI platform.
Compensation and Benefits (US-specific)
- Salary Range: $108,000 - $215,000
- Final salary depends on location, experience, skills, and certifications.
- Eligible for annual incentive plans and additional benefits.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in ML, data analytics, or similar.
- 5+ years of experience with:
- Production-level code in Python or Scala
- MLOps/LLMOps, Big Data, related roles
- Elasticsearch, SQL, NoSQL, Apache Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Databricks, MLflow
- Containerization, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, CI/CD, orchestration
- Distributed systems programming, solutions architecture, microservices
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years operationalizing large data-driven pipelines.
- Research or open-source contributions, Kaggle participation.
- 6-12 months working with RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, Generative AI.
- Experience with SageMaker or Vertex AI.
