JOB OVERVIEW
Xcel Engineering is seeking qualified applicants for the role of AI Security Engineer. The primary focus is to assist in drafting and publishing guidance and policies governing secure and responsible AI.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop, implement, and maintain AI governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Establish ethical guidelines for AI datasets and models.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
- Implement controls and mitigation strategies.
- Monitor AI systems for compliance.
- Prepare reports on AI governance and security metrics.
- Collaborate with data scientists, researchers, and IT security teams.
- Develop and deliver training programs.
- Stay updated with developments in AI governance, ethics, and security.
- Review and improve AI governance frameworks.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Security, Data Science, or related fields.
- Proven experience in governance frameworks, preferably in AI or data-heavy environments.
- Strong understanding of AI technologies, ethics, and privacy regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Collaborative team player.
- Certifications in information security or AI ethics are a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Inside office environment.
- Working on a computer for extended periods.
- May involve long periods of sitting.
