The Role
Redhorse is seeking a dedicated AI/ML Engineer to impact national security through autonomous warfare solutions within the Department of Defense (DoD). This role involves close collaboration with the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) to design, build, and integrate AI/ML systems.
Key Responsibilities
- AI/ML Development:
- Support the implementation of the CDAO’s Algorithmic Warfare (AW) AI scaffolding project.
- Develop scalable, robust AI/ML systems compliant with government cybersecurity policies.
- Stay updated with AI/ML research and assess its relevance to government projects.
- Autonomous Warfare:
- Develop and integrate AI/ML solutions to enhance autonomous warfare capabilities.
- Collaboration:
- Contribute to cross-functional teams on large language model initiatives.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging.
- Effectively communicate AI/ML concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Architecture and Design:
- Prepare technical documentation including system design and development reports.
- Standards Compliance:
- Ensure systems adhere to government cybersecurity policies.
- Apply NIST guidelines such as NIST 800-37 and NIST 800-53.
Required Experience and Clearance
- U.S. citizenship with active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 8+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination.
- Experience in system development, configuration, and support, especially with DoD systems.
Desired Experience
- Autonomous warfare development.
- Cloud architecture (Data Bricks, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- AI/ML software development (Python, LLMs, NLP).
- Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
