Overview

Apex Systems is seeking a Senior AI Engineer with strong consultative skills. The role involves hands-on development of advanced deep learning models for AI and NLP initiatives, focusing on designing and implementing AI applications and tuning Large Language Models (LLMs).

Responsibilities

• Optimize models for embedded hardware and server scalability.
• Utilize AWS AI services, such as Bedrock, and LLMs like Claude 3 Sonnet, LLaMa, etc., to build scalable applications.
• Develop and maintain NLP pipelines for:
  • Risk assessment
  • Threat classification
  • Named entity recognition
  • Information retrieval
  • Summarization
• Collaborate with Data Science, Cloud Engineering, and Applications Development teams.
• Fine-tune and train models using various approaches.
• Lead design and implementation of NLP models across multiple languages and dialects.
• Perform data preprocessing on structured and unstructured data sources.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients.

Technical Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in deploying production AI models.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with AWS services: Bedrock, S3, Lambda, SageMaker.
• Deep learning networks expertise.
• NLP expertise, particularly with LLMs and Transformer architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock and foundational LLMs (Claude 3 Sonnet, GPT, LLAMA, etc.).
• Knowledge of model adaptation techniques: RAG, fine tuning, LoRA, feature engineering.
• Skills in tokenization, language modeling, embeddings.
• Data preprocessing experience.
• Experience with model fine-tuning and evaluation.
• Developing Gen AI applications using LangChain or LlamaIndex (preferred).
• Familiarity with Pinecone, Weaviate, vector search algorithms, and LLM embedding layers (preferred).
• Published research in NLP is a plus.
